Dial plan exception groups prevent the helpdesk from modifying (assigning or unassigning) certain numbers in ZPM.
-
When assigning numbers to Teams users, numbers part of dial plan exception groups will appear in red and unavailable to the Helpdesk.
-
When the Helpdesk hovers over a number part of a dial plan exception group, the name of the exception group is displayed in a tooltip.
Types of Exceptions Groups
Manually created
They are created and managed by ZPM administrators by providing a list or range of extensions and a description/reason for reserving/blocking those numbers.
Dynamically created (ZIRO DRaaS Only)
ZIRO will automatically identify numbers routing to systems outside of Teams through its hosted SBCs. Any numbers passing through ZIRO SBCs that are not routed to Teams will be represented in a dynamic exception group. This ensures that your helpdesk cannot assign such numbers. Once a number routes to Teams, dynamic exception groups instantly update to exclude it, allowing the helpdesk to manage it.
