DLR Misconfiguration Report

The Dynamic Location Routing (DLR) Miconfiguration Report Identifies misconfigurations based on the numbers assigned to teams and the defined DLRs. Only active Direct Inward Dialing (DID) numbers require a DLR. A ZIRO DID that requires a DLR may incur costly fines for non-compliance with 911 calling regulations. Conversely, an orphan DLR entry—one that is not associated with any number in Teams—can lead to unnecessary 911 calling service fees.

:warning: This report assumes the ZIRO SBCs are configured correctly. Before consulting the DLR Report, please check the SBC Number Configurations Report.

Data Points

The report considers the following data points to determine misconfigurations:

  • Numbers Assigned to UPN (user or resource account) in Microsoft Teams.
  • Numbers Part of ZIRO Dial Plan with Emergency Calling Settings Enabled.
  • Numbers part of the ZIRO Emergency Numbers Exception Group Dial

When does a Number require a DLR?

Numbers Assigned In Teams

  • The number is assigned to a Teams User or Resource Account (lineUri is assigned)
  • The number is part of a dial plan that requires Emergency Calling Settings

ZIRO Emergency Numbers

Number part of the ZIRO Emergency Numbers Exception Group require a DLR

When is a DLR considered orphaned?

A number is considered orphaned when All 3 conditions are met

  • The number is defined as a DLR entry
    AND
  • The number is not assigned to a UPN in Teams
    AND
  • The number is not assigned to a ZIRO Emergency Numbers Exception Group.

What are the 3 types of Misconfigurations

  • Missing DLR - A user or resource account with an assigned ZIRO DRaaS number requiring Emergency Calling missing a DLR
  • Missing Emergency Number DLR - An Emergency Callback Number (used as ELIN or Shared Calling Number) missing a DLR
  • Orphaned DLR - A DLR that is not required

:warning: Important Known Limitations

This report does not identify missing DLRs on DIDs used as a “Shared Main Line” by users with extensions. These DIDs are typically tied to Auto-Attendants and Call Queues configured outside of ZPM. The DLR entries for these “Shared Main Line” DIDs must be created manually.
