The ZIRO Platform provides valuable insights into the types of devices linked to a Directory Number in CUCM that you plan to migrate to Teams. Understanding the differences—such as whether users have a desk phone—can help expedite your migration and reduce the risk of errors.
To determine the device type, the report first looks at devices with the number assigned on line 1. If none are found, it will then categorize the type based on the devices that have the number assigned on a secondary line.
| Device Type | Descripton |
|---|---|
| Softphone Only | The Number is only assigned to softphones. Migrating this number to Teams is likely a lighter lift, given there is no physical desk phone to replace. |
| Deskphone | The number is assigned to at least one physical deskphone. |
| Hot Desking | The number can make calls only after logging in to a physical device. Transitioning to Teams will require using the client or hotdesking on a Teams-certified Phone. |
| CTI Port | The number is assigned to a CTI Port. |
| Analog Fax | The number is assigned to an Analog Fax Machine. |
| Analog Modem | The number is assigned to an Analog Modem. |
| Analog (Other) | The number is assigned to an analog device that could not be identified further. |
| No Device | The number is not associated to any device |
| Unclassified | The number is assigned to devices that could not be categorized |
